What do Deltec, TenCate materials technology company, Philips and football together common? They join forces to develop new technology with the Department of Dermatology of the Radboud University to determine skin damages. The New Business by Enhanced Skin Comfort "project, in short NBESC, aims more knowledge about the impact of materials on the skin and the perception thereof. For manufacturers like Philips and TenCate is this important collaboration with the Deltec development of their products. It is importantfor ISASport, another partnerin the project, to have aneffectivemethod thatis able to determine potentialadverse effects ofthe field orflooron the skin.Andthe footballworldis interestedbecause this technologyenablesnewstandardsfor artificial turffieldstominimizeskin damage. The total investment in the project is € 7 million, € 3 million is granted from the national government and the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel, an investment that makes an intensive collaboration possible. The projectacceleratesthe developmentof additionalquality requirements forartificial turfand sports surfaces. Reason enough for the international football federations and industry to support this partnership.
